Your engine is your vehicle’s primary operating system. It provides the power you need to run smoothly and efficiently. Your scheduled oil changes play a vital role in keeping your engine running at peak performance by keeping all moving parts properly lubricated. In addition to your oil changes, you should have an engine performance check every 10,000 miles or so. This is often included as part of your factory scheduled maintenance, with the goal of identifying minor engine repairs before they become a major problem. How Can I Tell If My Engine Has An Issue?
Our goal is to take a proactive approach to vehicle maintenance and identify problems before they escalate to a major repair need. This approach almost eliminates the need for costly repairs but it’s not foolproof. In newer vehicles, your check engine light will come on at the onset of early repair needs, but you must also keep an eye out for knocking sounds or smoke. A loss of power or decreased fuel efficiency could have many causes, including an engine issue. Smoke is also a sign that your engine is overheated or in need of a repair.
