Mercedes A and B Service
What To Expect With Regular Maintenance
As the owner of a Mercedes, you want to make sure your prized vehicle gets the type of service and repair it needs. Any regular vehicle service won't do. To maintain your car's warranty, you need to make sure you get very specialized services at specific intervals (including Mercedes A and B Services). Here's what you should know about these two services and Mercedes repair in general.
Mercedes A Service
Mercedes A Service should be done the first time when your vehicle reaches approximately 10,000 miles (or the 1-year mark). Your vehicle's Flexible Service System will give you the exact time when A service should occur. After the initial A Service is performed, it should subsequently be performed approximately every two years or 20,000 miles.
The service includes the following:
- Inspect brake components
- Replace synthetic motor oil
- Check and replace all fluid levels (dependent on your vehicle's year and model recommendations)
- Check and correct tire inflation
- Replace oil filter
- Reset maintenance counter
The length of time it takes to complete this service depends on how busy the shop is that day. You may want to call Auto Stop in Arlington before you bring your vehicle in to schedule a specific time.
Mercedes B Service
Like Mercedes A Service, B Service should also be completed at specific times. The first B Service visits should occur approximately one year or 20,000 miles after the previous service. Your Flexible Service System will denote the particular recommendations for your vehicle. After the initial B Service, all future B Services should occur approximately every 2 years or 20,000 miles.
B Service typically includes the following:
- Exchange brake fluid
- Replace oil filter and synthetic motor oil
- Check and replace all fluids (per your vehicle's recommendations)
- Reset maintenance counter
- Inspect brake components
- Replace cabin dust/combination filter
- Check and inflate tires
It's important to note that diesel vehicles should follow the same time guidelines for B Services (once every two years or 20,000 miles). However, the services performed on diesels are different than those performed on regular gasoline vehicles.
